Tensar asphalt reinforcement technology has been established for twenty years and the products are proven for retarding cracking and controlling deformation in pavements internationally. Tensar AR-G is suitable for increasing the fatigue life of pavements with weak foundations, reducing rutting and controlling reflective cracking.

The Tensar AR-G system consists of a polypropylene geogrid and geotextile with stiff rectangular ribs and strong junctions. It has high grid junction strength and a deep rib profile. The Tensar AR-G geogrids are manufactured to ISO 9001 quality standards.

Function

Independent testing has shown that Tensar AR-G geogrid can increase the fatigue life of pavements with weak foundations by up to a factor of ten, reduces rutting by up to 70% and reduces reflective cracking in overlays making it well suited for both new road construction as well as repair to existing cracked road within the urban road network and for airport and sea port applications.

Applications

Tensar AR-G geogrid is proven by extensive world-wide use and rigorous independent laboratory research and provides real cost benefits by lengthening the maintenance cycle for asphalt pavements in road networks, airports, sea ports and hardstand areas.

Advantages

Tensar AR-G is the most effective asphalt overlay interlock available. It is resistant to most chemicals and less prone to installation damage.

When Tensar AR-G is installed at the base of the asphalt overlay it reduces cracks and rutting. It also requires less overlay thickness. Tensar AR-G provides long-term savings compared with traditional pavement reinforcement methods.

Installation

Tensar AR-G geogrid is supplied in rolls which are laid using a laying frame. Tensar AR-G geogrid should be laid between two asphalt layers. The minimum overlay depth for Tensar AR-G geogrid is 70 mm.
