GEOTUBE® dewatering containers, also known as geobags, provide a simple and cost-effective solution for sludge dewatering projects of all sizes. It is made from an engineered geotextile that is designed for dewatering sludge and sediment with high moisture content.
The dewatering containers are supplied to site and placed into position. Sludge treated with specialist polymers is pumped into the containers, where the clear effluent water is drained, leaving the solid material retained within the container. When full, the containers can be disposed of at a landfill, or the solids can be removed and applied to land.
GEOTUBE® dewatering containers are well suited to the pulp and paper industry for primary and secondary lagoon cleanouts, as well as mining applications for the removal of tailings, coal sludge, and other mineral residues. They are also used in water and wastewater treatment to achieve up to 85–90% reduction in Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD), and in agriculture to efficiently manage waste in dairy, poultry, and other farming operations.
GEOTUBE® dewatering containers are available in a range of sizes to suit varying volume and space requirements. These systems can also be installed in mobile roll-off containers and relocated around site as needed. It is one of the most versatile and effective dewatering technologies available.
WHY CHOOSE GEOTUBE DEWATERING CONTAINERS?
- High flow rate allows residual materials to dewater, whilst containing solids
- Simple to use as there are no mechanical or moving parts that could breakdown or wear and tear
- Custom fabricated with seaming techniques that withstand pressure during pumping operations
- The effluent is filtered water that can be reused or rsafely discharged to natural waterways without further treatment
- The dewatering technology was developed over many years, with significant refinement and the development of patented circumferential seaming, which provides excellent strength for very large tubes under high pumping pressures
- Available in several sizes, depending on volume and space requirements
- Supported by design advice and guidance on polymer use for your sludge
