Geofabrics is pleased to announce that Concrete Canvas® is the first Geosynthetic Cementitious Composite Mat (GCCM) manufacturer to comply with the new ASTM product standard for GCCMS in all categories of erosion control. Geofabrics Australasia Pty Ltd and Geofabrics New Zealand Ltd are the exclusive distributors of Concrete Canvas in Australia and New Zealand.

ASTM product specifications make specifying the right product easier for the designer whilst ensuring they meet minimum performance requirements, helping to prevent project failures.

The performance properties of Concrete Canvas have been independently tested to the standards specified in the new standard, ASTM D8364.

Purchasing GCCM’s that comply with ASTM D8364 protects contractors and clients from being misled by manufacturers who provide performance data using inappropriate non-GCCM standards that may not represent the performance that can be achieved in the field.

Dennis Grech, Geofabrics Australasia CEO & Managing Director responds: “Geofabrics is unwavering in our commitment to product quality and technical leadership and central to this is to have our business associated with products and indeed manufacturers that are best in class. Concrete Canvas shares this philosophy of quality and I congratulate the Concrete Canvas team in making Concrete Canvas the first GCCM to comply with the new ASTM standard in all categories of erosion control. What does this mean for Geofabrics’ customers? Well, Concrete Canvas is the only GCCM available in Australia that provides assurance to our customers that they are using a quality product that has been benchmarked to a Standard and achieves compressive and flexural strength performance consistent with the new standard.”
