Geofabrics Australasia is pleased to announce its membership with Austmine, a mining body that advocates on behalf of Australia’s Mining Equipment, Technology and Services (METS) sector. The METS sector is a key economic driver to our nation, contributing over $110 billion in gross annual revenue to our country’s prosperity. Our membership support, along with other members will help drive this growth to ensure that the Australian METS sector continues to be the best in the world.

Austmine’s membership represents over 650 METS companies from across the country. Our membership with Austmine will offer a diversity of organisations from which Geofabrics and our subsidiary company, Plascorp can collaborate, innovate and build partnerships from large contract miners, engineering firms and technology consultancies, to research organisations and professional services companies.

We are looking forward to opening the conversation with key players in the mining industry through Austmine, to learn from our peers and continue to evolve our product and service offering to meet the mining market. Our membership and association with Austmine will continue to maintain our strong ties to the mining industry with our innovative technical solutions for geosynthetic applications and mine ventilation solutions.

Drawing upon our technical leadership, it is our company’s priority to ensure that the mining sector is catered for through innovation and problem-solving solutions. Allowing for safe construction in unstable environments is just the beginning of Geofabrics’ commitment to servicing the mining space. Our mining capability includes the stabilisation of haul road and hardstand areas, rail formation construction and maintenance, rehabilitation and erosion control, slope stability and rockfall protection, containment and lining for tailings dams and waste, mine site remediation and mining grids for underground operations. To add to this is Plascorp’s mining ventilation; a range of ducted products created solely to promote air flow for the workings of an underground mine site.

Further explained by our CEO & Managing Director, Dennis Grech“At Geofabrics and Plascorp, we take great pride in providing solutions to customers with our mine ventilation ducting range. Australian made, best in class and offering the Australian mining community, safety and peace of mind that the underground ventilation system is protecting the lives and welfare of people. There is no greater responsibility than making a product that protects lives and livelihoods. The Plascorp range of mine ventilation ducting reduces air loss in the welded seams and the risk of delamination is significantly reduced. The endgame is a vastly superior product and today, we celebrate this milestone knowing Plascorp, an Australian company employing over 100 people, is making a significant impact on the welfare of our mining community.

More specifically, at Geofabrics our range of products in the Mining segment is deep. Local content, technical leadership, providing solutions that incorporate Australian sourced recycled material, and the use of geosynthetics compared to conventional material allows our mining customers to reduce their carbon footprint, improving their own environmental and social impact.
