Stabilisation of aggregates in pavement construction is a well established concept. The inclusion of a suitable geogrid in an aggregate layer creates a composite material to form a mechanically stabilised layer or MSL. This technique has been used widely for almost 35 years.
More recently this technique has been developed further through the introduction of TriAx® geogrids. The research into the performance of MSL’s has formed the basis for design and the ability to optimise the pavement layers using Tensar International’s well-known pavement design program TensarPave.
The purpose of this half-day workshop is to introduce TensarPave Version 7 which includes a number of new features including a module aligning the performance of TriAx® geogrids with Austroads design charts. The background to TensarPave will be described and then demonstrated by carrying out some hands-on design examples. The half day workshop is targeted to both using TensarPave users and to new users.
